Questions for the pros... Previously I was hyper not hypo, and had the tests done and it was discovered that my left side was overactive and the right side was dormant. Long story short - Endo decided that we should do I-131 radiation (middle of June) and knock out the left side and hope that the right side would wake up. My numbers for T3 were heading in the right direction.
Well, my last test results were:
TSH 4.99 - high level
T3 162 - normal, previously well over 400
I had blood drawn again to recheck my levels yesterday. As the recent numbers seem that I may be headed to the hypo end of things.
It has only been 4 months since I had the I-131, and if I remember right, my endo said that I should wait about 6 months to TTC, to make sure all the radiation is out of my system, especially my ovaries. Do any of you know how long we should wait?
We are finally healing our broken hearts over the loss of Kenny and Katie, working on an adoption, but are dying to get started on TTC.
Also, with being hypo, aren't the risks of mc much higher?
Don't my levels need to be monitored very carefully?
Do I need to wait a few more months to get my thyroid situation stabilized?
Thanks for the help cysters! I am fairly new to the problem thryoid arena, but unfortunately, not new to TTC.
Thanks again!
