Red face Questions Soy Isoflavones

Ill start off with a little bit of background. Got diagnosed with PCOS this time last year. Hubby and I did all the blood work and tests, which all came out fine so doctor started us on metformin and chlomid. I took 1 chlomid pill the first cycle on days 5-9 and did not ovulate. The next month I took 2 pills on the same days and did not produce any eggs. The third shot I took 3 pills the same days and had a positive ovulation test. I ended up getting pregnant right before christmas ( great present I thought!) My blood pregnancy test results started out low but were slowly climbing. Well in January I got the news it was a miscarriage, which was very hard for hubby and I. Since then we have not been really trying, but I would like to start again.

So to make a long story short I have heard about the soy isoflavones, but am not quite sure how to use them. I know I take them the same days I took the chlomid, but is there anything else I should take or do to up my chances of them working. I would like to give this a shot real soon so if there is anyone out there with knowledge about this can you please help? How about any positive stories of this actually working!

So sorry, that would be very heartbreaking and hard to want to try again.
There is a lot of threads/information about soy if you go to the alternative remedies forum. Basically it takes twice as much soy. 100mg soy = 50mg soy isoflavones
Good Luck!

Sammie~ I am very sorry for your loss. I just experienced a miscarriage as well. I'm glad to hear you are ready to try again. I will be trying again soon too.

I got pregnant with DS on 100mg of Clomid, 2nd round. I got PG this last time my 1st round of Soy, 65mg Days 5-9. You didn't mention how many mg of Clomid you took (3 pills) so I'm guessing 150mg. As a general rule, you would take more Soy than Clomid so I think it would be reasonable for you to start with 200mg of Soy on either Day 3-5 or 5-9. If you don't O on 200mg, you could increase your next cycle. Soy Isoflavones are available in pill form at Walmart and Rite Aid and are inexpensive.

Good luck.
