Questuin about one of the check lists that we have to send in with our application?
Does anyone have any knowledge on the enviromental check list that we have to get done before we can do the homestudy? We live in a very rural county in Texas and where we live there are no codes thus there is no one in control over this, and no one that we can just call to come out and do it. So what do I do? I know that we have a fire marshall and that is no problem, could he be able to do the enviromental check list as well as the fire safety check list?
I would call your agency & ask what you should do.
We're adopting internationally so we had different things to do. Our SW came & looked @ our entire house. We didn't need anything tested or inspected at all. She just made sure we had smoke detectors, CO2 detectors, locks, etc.
Good Luck!

I ditto Traci about contacting your agency. We didn't have an environmental checklist either, but each agency has different requirements, as do each state.
Good luck!

Our agency handled the Environmental Checklist during the homestudy process. The only outside 'agency' that came in when we were getting inspected/approved was the fire marshall for the fire inspection.
We also did not have an environmental checklist. But as it's been said, each state is different on what they want done.
I'm surprised Indiana doesn't have it, I'm sure they will...my case worker said that Indiana is one of the hardest on their homestudies.
