I don't know - but I wouldn't want too, my experience on met was that I didn't need laxatives lol.

Hmmm - one of the side effects of Met is Explosive Diarrhea If you need the effects of a laxative.... just have 2 slices of pizza and a Met

Haha! Yeah, it may be OK to take them both, however...Metformin is all the laxative you need.

Although ... I think if you need lots of water when you take Met.... an additional laxative can't possibly do you any good.... ED X 2 ?

My boyfriend has been having problems too because he's been on a lot of painkillers. He tried laxatives but that was all or nothing - so I've got him having 3 kiwifruit a day - he's doing better now, and he's got plenty of vitamin C

A laxative may not give your Met enough time to absorb, so you may not get a proper dosage. If you are having trouble with constipation, try a stool softener and a glass of apple juice. Worked great for me after my surgery, and my dr ok-ed it for 4 weeks after surgery.

Drinking coffee may also give you the urge to go without any other meds needed.
