I have a quick question. This is my first cycle using NPC to induce a period. I am on day 9 using 20 mg a day of the cream. When should I 'typically' expect a period, as I know all women are different? When should I stop using the cream? I know its the progesterone withdrawal that starts the period. I was going to use it for 14 days then stop, is that the proper way to do it?

It could happen anytime between now and CD 14 or it could take a week after you stop NPC, how long has it been? If I don't keep my body regulated with NPC, and let it go 3 months..like right now, it takes 2 cylces....I take it, and stop No AF, then I take it, and about day 9 I get it. I recently went and bought some NPC, and am currently taking it...the natural food store owner, told me to take it until my AF starts...could take up to 6 wks (sounds similiar to the shut down girls talk about), and then start the 2 wk application (the normal directions). Because, our bodies are low on progesterone, which cause abundance of estrogen... causing the cysts on our ovaires.....so if I take it until my body tells me that it has what it needs, by giving me AF... I am on day 20 now, and it's about to drive me nuts...I want AF. I am bloated now...which I suppose is a good sign, tho' I don't enjoy it.

go the whole 14 days, unless AF decides to show before then. it can take a week after the NPC is stopped, for AF to show. if she decides to not show this cycle, do it again...eventually she will.

Sorry, I just came across your post. I used it from day 14 through day 27 of my cycle, so 13 days. It worked well for me and I hope it does for you too.

ditto on what Amy said..
AF for me comes at all different times..sometimes it will arrive before the 14 day period..sometimes after..either way unless AF arrives before you need to use for 14 days. Also im bad at conversions but you should be using 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon twice a day.

I used 20mg once a day. I think that was 1/4 of a teaspoon. I read that in the NPC thread. If that doesnt work this cycle I think I will jump it up to twice a day. Thanks on the dosage info

If you're only using it once a day that might not be enough. I use 1/4 teaspoon twice a day and usually get my period after 8 or 9 days on it. The first time I tried it, I used a different brand, did it for 14 days and nothing happened. But I wasn't measuring, and I don't think it was really all natural. I bought a different brand and measure exactly, and the 2 times I used it I got it within the 8 or 9 days. I'm on my 3rd time using it now and I expect it tomorrow, so we'll see. Good luck to you.
