Quick Clomid Question!

Hey ladies! I did two rounds of clomid 50mg on days 5-9 and it didnt work! : ( So we have changed the doseage to 100mg on days 5-9 to see if that works. Iam also on 1500mg of Metformin daily. Now here is my question I was in the break room at work and overheard a few ladies discussing ttc, and one of them said she was on clomid 100mg days 1-5 and it worked on the second round. Has anyone ever heard of taking it on days 1-5? I was just inquiring to see if its something I should discuss with my doc if this round doesnt work (keeping my fingers crossed it does!) thanks in advance ladies!!!

I have recently read of many women taking it like that, but most are now taking it 3-7. Mostly it is personal preference by the Dr. but the reasoning I have read is mostly that apparently you produce more eggs when taking it early therefore up your chance of catching at least 1 of the eggs. I did ask my Dr. this question and she said the earlier the better but said that it will not cause extra follies, not enough studies to prove that. My ob rx's 5-9, but this time with advice of my rpl Dr I will be doing 3-7. I think the reason most ob's say 5-9 is because that is wht they learned backin the day and they follow things more 'by the book' where re's and other fert specialist have tried different things.

I just got a BFP after taking 50mg days 5-9. I think it's really the doc's preference. I had decided that if it didn't work this time around, I might switch to days 3-7. It wasn't under doc's orders though. All in all, I think it really depends on your cycle. If you O this time, and it's way too late (like day 25 or so), the doc may move you to earlier in the month... Good luck!
