Ok, I just bumped up to 2000mg and have lost pounds already. I am definitely having dizzy spells and bouts of nausea alternating with hunger pangs. It is strange. I am sure it is from the increase and am waiting it out.
I was on 1000mg for years and then my new doctor said that staying on a low dose for that long is like trying to fight a bear with a feather. So, up I went!
I am currently taking 1500 mg of XR. I am rx'd 2000mg but can't deal with the side effects. I seem to have little to none of the side effects on 1500mg but I'm afraid it doesn't seem to be doing as good a job on 2000mg. Although 1500mg is still better than taking nothing at all.

I started at 1500mg 3 weeks ago, right out of the gate at diagnosis because my IR is so pronounced. I go back in October and she'll move me up to 2000mg if we haven't seen enough improvement in my insulin levels.
Edited to add - I experienced some of the basic SE's when I first started - dizziness, nausea, diarrhea - but for the most part they went away after less than a week. I still get diarrhea if I eat something stupid - which is rare, because the Met has killed 95% of my lunatic sugar cravings. I feel like a different person. Its wonderful.
