I am back online after having spent a week in the wilderness at my family's cottage in the Kawartha Lakes region of Ontario Canada. It is so amzingingly peaceful there and with nothing to do but swim, kayak, hike, read and relax. There are no phones or computers or even tv -- just the sound of the loons on the lake!
We managed to get started on the paperwork for the adoption agency while we are at the cottage and that felt really good. I am hoping to get it filed by next week and let the process begin for real...we are aiming to move this along as quickly as possible (at least the stuff that we are responsible for -- we know that there can be unexpected delays beyond your control and are fully expecting them).
The only other news from me is that I am having a stressful 4th of July weekend due to hassles with my health insurance company! I am scheduled to have a myomectomy this Tuesday, but now it may not happen! The complete story can be found on this thread.. http://www.soulcysters.net/showthrea...threadid=47414
That's about it for now... hope all is well with everyone.
Janie

(((((((SKIBOO)))))))) Hi, welcome back. I hope your fight with insurance is a success and you can have your surgery as planned...I hate insurance for those reasons alone.
I am glad you are going the adoption route..we are in the talking phase..so which way are you going? States or Elsewhere? I can't believe how much it costs...so I don't know when we will even start anything soon.
Good luck...have a good week.

Thanks for all the support everyone... I appreciated it very much. I managed to get things straightened out with the insurance. Turns out is was due to the incompetence of my RE's office staff... grrr... the whole story is here: http://www.soulcysters.net/showthrea...threadid=47676
I am feeling apprehensive about the surgery -- and a wee bit scared. But I am glad that I can get it done as I want to get healed and ready to move the adoption in to high gear.
Cathy: We are going to adopt from Russia... we really want an infant or toddler and that is unlikely to happen for us in the U.S. given our age...
Amy: My family's cottage is on Julian Lake, near Stony Lake and Viamede Resort -- so that means we're practically neighbours! I wish I had known as I would have loved to have coffee with you and asked you in person all about overseas adoption... I will let you know when our next visit will be (maybe in October, we hope).
Lisa: I hope your waiting phase is surprisingly short and that you have your little girl home soon!!
So... this is it... I am off to the hospital. I will post again as soon as I can.
