My Mood: Points: 3,111.22 Bank: 26,813.87 Total Points: 29,925.09 | qustion on new med's i'll try and make this post as short as possible.
I have had another three week period, which is not unuasl for me it has been going on like this now for over two years.
I went to my GP today who has put me on Tranexamic Acid 500mg tablets 2tables x3 times a day.
I have never heard of this medication before, and i was looking for some feed back on it.
I also saw my doctor because i am constant pain in my right side by my overie, last week i nearly went to the Emergency Room because the pain was so bad, but the NHS is so stretch anyway i decided to go over to my GP, i had a bit of a row for this and was told if the pain gets that bad again i have to go stright to the hospital.
So i am also waiting for an ultrasound and blood tests on Friday.
Thanks to any one who can gave me any inforametion on these new tablets.
Brightest Blessings
Annie

Points: 5,434.68 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 5,434.68 | I looked it up, and it is for excessive bleeding. Here's a part of it: Tranexamic acid (commonly marketed as Cyklokapron in the U.S. and as Transamin in Asia) is often prescribed for excessive bleeding. It is an antifibrinolytic that competitively inhibits the activation of plasminogen to plasmin, a molecule responsible for the degradation of fibrin. Fibrin is the basic framework for the formation of a blood clot in hemostasis. It has roughly 8 times the antifibrinolytic activity of an older analogue, ε-aminoacaproic acid.
Hopefully, it will make you feel better soon. I've never had the bleeding problem, but I have the sharp pain because of the ovaries. When I first had it, the ob put me back on bcp, but my if doctor gave me metformin. Good luck with getting better. |
