Question Qustion and possible TMI

Ok Ladies I am sorry I have to even ask this but I am not sure where else to ask this question. My husband and I had our first little on in June of last year. I breast fed/mainly pumped. I got my first cycle 2/9/08, my second cycle April 12, 2008. Both of which to me were fairly normal last the week, had their heavy day and a half in there. But nothing abnormal. Friday May 23rd my cycle suddenly started with no warning. I didn't spot like normal it went straight to heavy red flow. Friday night I probably went through 2-3 pads total from early afternoon to bed, So today I went through 6 pads I think, to include over night I have had to change the pad twice. I am throwing clots(or so I think they might be) and my flow is still heavy, gushing at times. My cycles before having a baby were irregular or not at all. So I didn't test figuring AF would show up soon.

So finally my question. Is this normal for a miscarriage? Unfortunately I tested two weeks ago and nothing but a BFN. Its been 6 weeks since my last cycle so to me its possible I was PG that this is a miscarriage. And its strange because on friday when it started so suddenly the thought crossed my mind that this is weird, could I have been PG and am having a miscarriage? When I got home that night and my husband finally got home I told him I was bleeding heavily and throwing clots and he asked the same question. Do you this its a misscarriage? I honestly don't know. My immediate thought is even if it is I don't think there is anything they can do for me because I don't need the shot because our blood types are fine.
So what should I do is this normal do you think this is a miscarriage? I am so unsure of what to do and how to handle all this except for to monitor myself. I figure if I am still soaking through pads by monday then there is a major issue. But any advise would be nice and helpful.

I am not sure if it is a m/c, but I would contact your dr. My dr has told me if anything is ever different to call her.

Hope all turns out well.

If you didn't ovulate, it is more likely that you would have a relly heavy period. I hope it isn't a m/c and just a really abnormal period.

Thanks Ladies. Honestly I am not sure I have never had a cycle this heavy at all. The only time I had heavy bleeding like this was right after Ethan and then even then it salowed down within a day or so. Its been since Friday afternoon and I am still having gushes. I am wearing overnight and super maxium pads. Last night it seemed t o be slowing down but I ended up waking up to change my pad again. I called and talked to my mom to see what she thought or suggested. She said it honestly could be either but just like I thought there isn't anything they can do but if I am still bleeding heavy by Tuesday or Wednesday to call my Dr. Which I agree with as they are closed this weekend anyway. I will keep you posted if anything else happens. Thanks for the responses. I am sorry I had to bother any of you and even have to ask that question in the first place.

It could just be your hormones trying to regulate your cycles better. I know it is out of the ordinary for you but sometimes that is the case with us especially after having a baby and BF'ing. Are you cramping at all? I had an early m/c (about 5 weeks) and I cramped pretty bad until I passed a pretty good sized clot and then it was just bleeding. I agree if you still have heavy bleeding tomorrow, I would go see your doc. There is nothing that they can do if you are having an m/c but they can do a beta and maybe find out for sure if it is a m/c or not if that is what you want.
