Default Rage and Frustration?

I'm not on any type of medication, but I do know that there is something terribly wrong with the way I feel. I tend to react very strongly with either frustration or rage to things that upset me, sometimes to the point of wanting to break things. I KNOW that can't be good. My question though is how did you broach the subject to your doctor? Did you just walk in and tell them that you were depressed or what your symptoms were or what? The last thing I want him to think is that I'm nuts. This is so confusing.

Default by all means....

By all means, you should tell your doctor. I have the same problem. Mine was anxiety linked. I just out and told the doctor what was going on with me and told him I needed meds. I had researched all the meds and asked around and figured out the one I thought would work best for me. I have been on Paxil before, then Lexapro. Lexapro did wonders for me. I felt better after a week. Some people don't even notice a difference, they just act differently. If the doctor thinks you are crazy, find another doctor. If you have PCOS, they should know that a lot of times there are mood swings b/c of hormones and such with PCOS. Please tell them, just so that you know you tried for help. No one knows your body like you, and if someone tells you that you are fine, it is in your head, if it is a doctor, once again, find another. HTH.

I would say if this is a doctor that you're normally seeing then tell him how you're feeling. Your rage is almost probably due to your hormonal imbalance and that maybe they can get the right medication to help you out...I have had experiences with doctors that make you feel crazy. Before they even found out i have high testosterone, they told my I had an anxiety problem (I'm worried about nothing) and that i need to get on depression medication. They looked pass the irregular periods, the hair loss, and the facial hair. It wasn't until I came here that I found out my symptoms were much more than an anxiety problem. So I then had to beg the doctor to check out my adrogen levels.
