I was recently searching the web for pregnancy and conception related material and in my search I came across so many threads and messageboards where women were having AF and ttc problems. On all of these boards the women claimed to have problems and talked about them openly with others but no one had a clue what was wrong.
At least 50% of these posters symptoms would have qualified for PCOS -
On this board we all know what is wrong - many of us are dxed but what about all of these other ladies who don't have a clue?
Media saturation on PCOS isn't what it should be - we need to start a posting drive across the web - hundreds of us hitting message boards and making people aware.
Even if each one of us only posted in one place - donated 5 minutes of our time - and one woman who needed to be dxed but didn't know it read that post - we'd all be doing some good.
It's a good idea. I've seen cysters doing that on Yahoo questions and even YouTube. Some sites won't allow you to put links to other sites so you can't direct them to SC. Others don't have that rule.
I definitely agree, especially deaing with AF problems. I've had problems since I started menstruating, did tons of research, but never came up with PCOS. The information is out there, but I was shocked I never came across it. Had I found PCOS myself, I would have spoken to a doctor years ago.
Okay - everyone who reads this chooses 1 board and makes a post about PCOS awareness and then comes back to this board and makes a note about where you posted to see how many boards we can all cover combined.
I'll start it off -
Today I posted at: Women's Health Support Forums.
1 down and many to go!

Reason: spelling
Shortly after I was diagnosed I asked a friend who has a sex (sexuality, health, etc.) information blog (Ask Yuliya) if she knew anything about it. She posted some questions/answers.
Apparently I also helped someone through word of mouth. I'm very close to my sisters (4 of us girls in 5 years!) and keep them aware of what I've been going through with PCOS. One sister spoke to a friend of hers about it. Apparently the info was a little too close for comfort. The friend did some research and, almost immediately, went to her doctor. She has been diagnosed with PCOS. Amazing what a little talking can do.
Still looking for other blogs, message boards.
Good luck, ladies!
I own a couple of forums and have indeed make a catagory about PCOS on them with links to various PCOS websites including this one. There have been some good responses and a few have PCOS and have been able to talk about their symptoms. It's very important that these ladies are not alone and we can talk about it together.

Managing PCOS the natural way!
Start to do something to make a positive change in your life!
Real women have curves, being more of a woman doesn't mean i'm less of a person.Plus size and Proud!
I told everybody at my work and my mothers work and since nobody had ever heard of it. Alot of them looked it up and printed out information. It made me feel good that so many women now knew a little bit more then they did. If it helps even one person its all worth it.
Another thing that will raise awareness in the websphere...
Look at the bottom of every post, to the LEFT of the 'edit/quote/mq/qr' buttons.
You'll see 4 tiny icons...a little man, a checkered square, a green box, and an 'f'.
Those are social bookmark icons.
The first 3 are the most important. (DIGG, De.Li.Cious, Technorati)
Whenever you see a post that you think is something 'the world' needs to know about, click on the icon. (you'll need a free account with either of those)
Clicking the icon will do two things:
1) It will save that page/post, in an online bookmarking page for you (so no more searching the SC boards looking for 'that really good post'.
2) The more 'diggs' or clicks on other icons a post gets, the 'higher' it shows up on those sites. Ending up on page one of DIGG, Technorati, or De.Li.cious can raise MEGA awareness.
Each week, we could all decided on a research article that helps raise awareness of a particular aspect of pcos, and we could all 'digg it' (or whatever). Then the next week, we move on to another topic.
We'll know if it's working because we'll see the number of 'views' increase.
I think I can change the DIGG icon so we can actually see how many diggs a post has. (not sure about the other ones.)
