I am still in the process of trying to get answers for my hormonal problems, but today I was diagnosed with Raynaud's Phenomenon. I'm just wondering if Raynaud's could be connected to anything else that would effect PCOS type hormonal problems.
I dont' know, but a long time ago I was told I have it. I do believe I have a mild form of it though, it doesn't get super bad. My hands get cold very easily, and my toes will numb up if I am outside for too long in the winter w/o good boots, even if it's above freezing.
There was a post on this a month or two ago, I think if you do a search you can find it.

that's odd. both of my sisters have had problems that were labelled as Reynaud's. i think it was back when they were teenagers. I don't know if they still have those problems. But neither of them have pcos, but i have pcos. but i've never had symptoms of Reynauds that i know of.

i have been looking for more information about raynaud's for the last couple of months... i briefly wondered if there might be a hormonal link, but my small bit of research turned up little that seemed applicable to my situation.
i had something very, very weird happen in september. the weather just began to turn cool. i woke up in the early morning hours with an intense, stabbing pain in my nipples. i took some acetaminphen and ibuprofen then got into a warm shower, which i hoped would relax the pain. it felt like they were constricting down to nothing. the nipples were discolored- a dusky blue-violet with a blanched-white center. neither the shower or the otc's helped. i went to the emergency room because i was hurting so badly! the md thought maybe it was mastitis and gave me antibiotics and vicodin. the pain lasted for about 2 weeks. i thought of raynaud's because of the type of pain, the relationship to cold weather and the discoloration. but an online search for raynaud's of the nipples and breast yielded very little in the way of results.
i have always had a tendency to be cold- especially cold hands and feet. as i type this, my fingertips are freezing and aching rather badly. i do not have the typical presentation of raynauds in that i don't have the dramatic color change in my fingers and toes. i have lived in southern louisiana my whole life, so i am experiencing my first bits of truly cold weather. i guess we shall see if it progresses as winter sets in.

I just started to have this last winter where my fingers turn white when my hands get cold- it really freaked me out! I haven't gone to the doctor about it though so I don't know what would have caused it. I hadn't made any changes weight-wise or hormonally. All I know is that I have to run my hands under warm water to get the colour to return to normal.
