Yay! I spoke with an attorney today and she says it will be pretty straightforward. I am going to send off all the paperwork to her tomorrow so she can draw up the petition. Then we'll meet with her to sign the petition. Aboout 2 weeks later she said we'll go to court and get an interim order. Once our agency signs off on it (which they're just waiting for the opportunity to do!) we'll get the final decree of adoption and an Illinois birth certificate. She said it should all be done by the end of the year, probably much sooner
