? re glu xr 2000 mg

I've a question about glucophage xr. My RE wants me to if possible work up to 2000 mgs a day. I've been trying to do this for about 5 weeks now. I've had no trouble until I take 2000. 1500 doesn't bother me. In fact, I feel good, have more energy, my face is clearing up and doesn't seem to be as oily. But if I take 2000 then stay out of the way between my and the restroom. Anyone else had this trouble on upping their dose? It's so bad I went back down to 1500mg.

I too had no symptoms at all until I upped to 2000mg of the Gluco XR. Now, I do have occasional diarrhea, but nothing severe. Not so bad I have to go back down in dosage. Still, I did notice a definite difference when I upped from 1500 to 2000mg. Good luck!

I too can't go above 1500mg.
For me I also had developed anxiety attacks along with the extra potty probs

Good Luck and don't worry about moving up yet.
Give it another month and try again.

for me,I tried 3 times and still can't do it.

Yes Sherry! I started off like this:
Week 1- 500mg a day
Week2- 1000mg a day
Week 3- 1500mg a day
Week 4- 2000mg a day of XR

The very first night of XR, I was in the bathroom with the worst cramps and diarrhea I have ever had. Since then it has been about 2 weeks of taking XR, and for the past week I have been throwing up every night. I don't know if it is because of the XR or not, but before it I was fine. Now I just feel like sh*t everyday, all day. I'm going to tought it out for the rest of my bottle, but if I am still sick after that, I am not staying on it. I am so sick if being sick!
