I saw Ken Muse and wasn't impressed, and later I saw Shona Murray, who shares his practice. Dr. Muse performed my HSG.
I never found either of them to be particularly helpful with TTC. Dr. Muse almost promised he'd have me pregnant in 3 months on the first time he ever met me, which made me uncomfortable. He also wouldn't go any farther without doing an HSG, which he told me would require me to have $800 up front, so I didn't do it. Later, when Dr. Murray scheduled my HSG, I only needed $200 up front, and I wish someone had told me that a lot sooner.
Dr. Murray helped me more than any other RE I've been to so far, but after my fifth round of Clomid, which was my first and only IUI attempt, she told me she wouldn't prescribe it again, because I had side effects -- bear in mind that on the IUI round, the dosage of Clomid was A LOT higher than I'd been able to ovulate on previously. She also told me she would not try tamoxifen.
Dr. Murray said my only chance would be to go on to injectibles or better yet skip that and go straight to IVF, but I can't afford either of those.
So, I'm at a dead end, and I just turned 39 last week. If anyone else knows anyone great in Lexington, I'd love to hear about it.
