Cool ? re: 'Major Depressive Disorder'

Has anyone been going 'good' w/o depression, then bam after a while got hit hard with it, and couldn't seem to get out of it?

I ask because I was recently in the hospital for about 2 weeks, because I just got so overwhelmed with everything. The day I saw my therapist, I took an Ativan, but wanted to take the whole bottle, I didn't-yay- later that night I went to a meeting, took a walk with a friend, but found myself getting tearful, because I am being stalked by a guy, as well, as suffering from major panic attacks where my heart feels like it has hole in it and can't breathe.
Anyway, I was given two meds inpatient, but have been trying to take minimal. Now I am spiffed, Trazadone has been mentioned here in this forum, and I was given 100mg at night to take, but feel it makes me very irritable. The other med is called Mellaril sp?
Can anyone please help me out here. Also, I'm thhning about going back on an antidepressant such as Zoloft but not sure if i need to go back on an antidepressant. I hear nothing but how well Zoloft helps people.
On discharged I was given the Dx of Major Depressive Disorder, but am not deressed all the time.

Please help any suggestions/experience appreciated.

Default depression

I had bouts of depression that would last from 10 days to 6 months. It was all hormonal.

Are you premenstrual or is it lasting longer? Low estrodial combined with high androgens wreaks havoc on our brain chemistry. Getting your hormones balanced makes all the difference in moods. Are you on anything right now for your PCOS?
