I had a great gyn in Nashville area but he moved soooo I've been looking and looking. So far I've had several recommendations but I haven't gotten a chance to check them out. Several people have recommended Dr Stephen Sharp as an endo but he isn't taking new patients anymore. As far as gyn I was recommended to Dr. Grayson Woods on Harding Rd, Medical Plaza East.....phone number 615-222-3737. There is also a support group for the Nashville area if you are interested. They can all recommend several different doctors and also let you know who NOT to go to.

I actually have an appointment with Dr. Andrea Hayes, Endo, next week. I have seen Dr. Esther Eisenberg and she was really great, but she is no longer treating patients with infertility. So, I hope that Dr. Hayes will be great! I got her name from a person I work with and also from a PCOS support website. I am not sure about an OBGYN. I have had recommendations, but I haven't made any appointments. I thought depending on how the appointment goes with Dr. Hayes, then I will see who she recommends. Good Luck to you and it is great to know that someone in the Nashville area is on here. I hope to talk to you more. |

I have heard alot of good about Dr Hayes but also that she doesn't take time to listen to what you have to say. I haven't been to her so I don't know if this is true or not.

Points: 1,590.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,590.00 | I went to see Dr. Hayes yesterday. Well, I actually have mixed opinions about her. First off, I had to wait 2 hours. It was that busy. But I don't know if that was because I was a new patient or not. Anyway, the Nurse Prac. come in. She actually did most of the history and such. I saw Dr. Hayes for about 5 min. Basically the nurse prac. gave her a brief summary and said what she thought I should be put on. Dr. Hayes then looked at my chart briefly and ordered some labs and she did answer my questions. I do feel that my concerns were addressed. I also feel that Dr. Hayes is excellent in getting the PCOS taken care of. I was on Met 850mg 2 times a day and she has put me on Avandamet 2mg/1000mg 2 times a day. I feel that I will get great results from her. I will be going back to see her. I have heard that some doctors that have a busy practice will actually have the nurse prac. do most of the history and answer most of the questions and then the Dr. will review and make the final decision. However, if you want/need someone that will sit with you and give you that warm cozy feeling, then Dr. Hayes may not be the right one for you. But if you want someone that is good and that will take care of your PCOS then I would highly recommend Dr. Hayes. Good Luck to you and let me know if you decide to use her. Also, if you don't mind me asking, what OBGYN do you use? I am looking for a new one. Thanks and it is nice to have someone on her that is in the same area. Let me know if I can be of any help to you.

He recently moved his office from Nashville to Columbia. So I'm going to go see if I like him or not. If anyone knows anything about him please let me know! Thanks

I had 2 m/c and finally delivered triplets (lost a quad at 8 wks preg) on October 25, 2001. I also saw Dr. Hayes and liked her alot. She was very patient and listened to my concerns. I see Dr Dittus for my gyn stuff, but she doesn't deliver babies anymore. Good luck to you!

Can't help with the endo.

Points: 259.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 259.00 | I'm also looking for a new GYN, currently I'm with Catherine Thornburg, and I feel like she doesn't have a clue as to what she is doing. She blames EVERYTHING on being overweight, I have also seen Dr. Jill Chambers who just wanted to push all kinds of meds on me. I also have seen Dr Andrea Hayes and HATED her!! She was all about weight loss and not about PCOS, which I do understand that being overweight can bring on other health problems. She never took the time to answer my questions and didn't seem to care about my concerns. I even saw her dietician (SP?) who was a real mess also!! Once I showed up for an appointment and the front desk person forgot to put it in the computer and I had to wait 3 hours to be worked in. then they charged my insurance for tests, and lab work that I never had done!! Sorry to rant on Dr Hayes, but I just hope no one has to endure the crap I had to take from her!!!
Dr Thornburg has ordered a US for this Monday, if she tells me one more time that the reason i've had AF for 15 days is because I'm overweight, I might lose my patients on her!! Wish me luck guys!!!

Points: 1,590.00 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 1,590.00 | I just wanted to update everyone that has taken the time to share their doctors and their stories. I have an appointment to see Dr. Ted Anderson next Tuesday. I found him on the Middle Tenn PCOS webpage. He is an OBGYN that also deals with infertility. He comes recommended by other women that have PCOS. I am really hoping that he is good. Has anyone heard anything about him? I will go back to see Dr. Hayes in August. Depending on what happens then will determine if I go back to her or find someone else. I wish you all the best of luck in finding a doctor that listens to you and helps you through your PCOS journey. |

His name is Dr. Fox and he's not one to rush you out of the office. He's taken time to listen and to help me understand what's going on and my options. I don't think he has specialized in PCOD/PCOS, but he knows a lot about it.
He's located at
Genesis Women's Care
615-831-2330
Dr. Fox
he's in the hospital building C (I think) 3rd floor.
please if you need a doctor, go see him. Wonderful! He doesn't make you feel bad for asking lots of questions or for having "weird" problems. I have had some really horrid doctors, but he is great! |

My Mood: Points: 2,487.35 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 2,487.35 | Hi gals,
for anyone who is interested ( and still looking),
I have been a patient at the University of Alabama, Kirkland Clinic. They specialize in reproductive Endo/Gyn AND infertility. I was just there for a PCOS study. Stupid me, dropped out and went to Dr Kuykendall in Columbia for my Clomid/met.
Went back to UAB for genetic testing, loved them, all in just a few buildings, they did it all there!
I have an appointment in Dec to see them for RPL, and infertility. I will never ask Dr K to do my infertility again, he is just not trained for it.
I know it may be a drive for some Nashville ladies, but for me, near Pulaski, it is only 2 hours and they are one of the best groups in the country. and, you can go to the zoo while you are waiting on test results! lol!
ps, what is
