Default Readings under 100?

My dr was looking through my monitor and made a comment that I still don't get any readings under 100. Aside from first thing in the morning, when are you supposed to get readings that low? I've read it should be below 140 an hour after eating and 120 two hours after.

What other times do you ladies test your BG and when do you aim for under 100?

Im similar to you.For right now my RE wants my fasting blood sugar to be 120 or below. My two hour after meal goal is 170 or lower. But im trying to reach what was expected of me when I was pregnant: 90 or below for fasting and 120 or below for two hours after meals.HTH

Are you on anything aside from met for your BG? My dr was talking about trying me on byetta. I just don't feel like my levels are that high. In the morning they're usually slightly elevated like 120 or so. But they do go down quite well after I eat. Not below 100... but for the most part it is below the 140/120 after eating. The highest I'll get is a 170 - and it's very rarely, after I've eaten something I really shouldn't.

Are you checking any before meals besides the fasting? My dr's goals for me is under 105 before meals and under 140 2 hrs after. I usually do a morning fasting and test either before lunch or before dinner. Those are normally in the 80-95 range. Except today...I must be getting a cold or something. My numbers today have been 120-130 before meals.

Me, I take metformin, actos, and amaryl at the moment. I think my pregnancy made my blood sugars go out of wack. So now im just trying to get myself back to normal. My A1C at my last Dr. visit was 7.7%. I think the goal for my doctor right now is under 7% and then she will probably have a new goal for me when I reach the first goal. Im overweight, and havent worked since I left my last job in June due to me being HR pregnant. So I have been less active. Im hoping to find employment soon and start to really change my eating habits and working out. I know what I need to do to control my blood sugars, but sometimes im bad and do things that im not suppose to be doing like eating sweets and large amounts of carbs, but im trying to change that because I want to have an uneventful pregnancy the next go round.

hanshab: when you say before meals, how long is it after the last time you ate?

I take one before breakfast at 9am, then again at lunch at noon or before dinner at 7 pm and sometimes at bedtime around 11:30 pm. Sometimes I have a snack at 3 pm and 9 pm or so.
