Well I just thought I would introduce myself. I was diagnosed with PCOS and insulin resistance 10 years ago at the age of 20. Had always sporadic periods, great gyno did testing and the internal ultrasound and got the diagnosis. Of course at that time things weren't nearly as hopeful as they are now. Instead of informing me of any kind of treatment he just put me on birth control. I had my pcp test again several years later and she confirmed he was right. She prescribed met but I never took it. I was in complete denial. So here I sit 30 years old about 60 pounds heavier that at the time of diagnosis, struggling with the excess hair and acne and I am tired. I called the dr and asked for the met again. I have to do something. I have researched all the foods and supplements I need to get on board with. My weight is causing so many issues, my legs are killing me from my thighs down to my feet they ache constantly. I have dieted on and off getting 20-25 pounds off and then get stuck and stop. I have come to realize I dont need a diet, i nned a lifestyle change. So here goes! Wish me luck!
