Default ready to ttc again but scared...

Iam getting ready to ttc again in may and Iam so scared to miscarry again. I have had three miscarriages the farthest I made it was 10wks which was a missed miscarriage and had to have a d&c. This one was the hardest for me since I had seen a heartbeat others were to early. I get to this point where Iam so excited to try again then reality sits in that I could lose another baby. I really dont think I can handle going through this alot more times. I always feel like if I could make it out of the first trimester I will be fine but then I see so many people that have lost them later and realize thats to so. I feel like I have noone that understand and Iam so tired of seeing all these young girls and people accidentally getting pregnant and everything goes fine for them, not that I want something bad to happen I just cant understand it. It helps me to see other people have went through similar things and Iam not alone I just dont know what to do to not be so freaked out when I do get pregnant, I wish it was a happy exciting time but it only brings me stress and worry

Shanna-Have you had repeat pregnancy loss testing? Was anything found? I've been seeing an RE for my repeat miscarriages (I've had 3) and I thought I had all the repeat pregnancy loss testing. (They told me I had, and nothing was found.) I ended up getting my medical records and going to another RE for a second opinion and it turns out I have NOT been tested for everything, not even close. I think my old RE was following much more old school methods. My new RE is much more aggressive in treating repeat loss. (I will most likely be put on prednisone to supress my immune system since I have autoimmune issues, and most likely heparin or lovenox). I am going through my testing with them right now and will get my official treatment plan when I am done with the testing. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm learning that not all doctors are created equal when treating repeat miscarriage, and if you feel yours isn't doing enough to prevent, maybe try finding a new doctor? But I totally understand what you are going through, miscarriage totally takes away the joy of pregnancy. Instead of being a joyful time, its terrifying. ((hugs)) I hope your next pregnancy is a sticky one!

Yes I have had testing done, I could not even tell what all I have been tested for. I have had loads of blood work and my husband has been checked. I also had the hsg to check my fallopian tubes. Everything on all of that came back fine he seems to think as he says its the metabolic problems I have with the pcos, he has me take clomid even though I ovulate on my own he says it will help make more mature eggs. I have thought about going to another doc my RE is the only one in town. I have had one miscarriage under him. I dont know Iam hoping next time will be it just scared and nervous about trying again.

Shanna-Your RE very well may have tested you for everything. I just know from my own experience, the RE I was seeing told me I had all the repeat pregnancy loss testing, but when I went for a second opinion with another RE I found out there were several things he left out. (MTHFR, Factor V Lieden, Anti-nuclear antibodies, and a bunch of other things.) And I know how frustrating this is, with 3 losses, I wanted answers and I'm sure you are feeling the same way. Also, the new RE I'm seeing believes in heparin or lovenox for unexplained loss, he says he has had great success with it. I know its somewhat controversial to use heparin or lovenox without a solid reason, but that may be something to ask your doctor about as well. Lots of luck to you, I hope you get your sticky bean very soon!

I completely understand. I am only on miscarriage #1 (which I hope is the only one) but I feel the same way about seeing all these people have babies that weren't trying or that don't want them and I wonder, why so difficult for me? I can't even talk to my best friends because they all got pregnant right out of high school with random guys and have had more since then. I, however, waited until I was married and finished with school, yet, I'm the one with the miscarriage. It just doesn't seem fair. I try to tell myself not to make it so personal, but it is hard!

Best of luck to you...hope good news is in your future!

shanna do u take low dose asprin as well? if not talk to your dr. it cant hurt and may help also. my dr told me he did all the RPL tests also and after talking to the nurse practicioner he had not tested me for MTHFR which came back positive. so ask alot of questions. ask for what tests they have done and research it. these women on here are a great source of information and support. take a list of questions back to your dr. sometimes you have to get pushy and aggresive but this is your body and your life... dont give up hope. i am sorry for your loss as well. sending u baby dust
