Real Simple Magazine - May 2006 There is an article on thinning hair called, Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow. It gives several possible causes for losing your hair and one cause is "underlying issues." It says "All sorts of medical conditions, including thyroid disease, iron-deficiency, lupus, and polycystic ovarian syndrome, as well as certain medications, like cholesterol lowering drugs, can cause shedding.
Remedy: Get a thorough checkup by your doctor, including tests for hormonal imbalances. Treating the illness - the underlying cause of the hair loss - may solve the problem and return growth, although the new hair might not be as thick."

You ask people why they have deer heads on the wall. They always say, "Because it's such a beautiful animal." There you go. I think my mother's attractive, but I have photographs of her.
