Default Reality thread on mommy board

I wrote the following in response to this thread: http://www.soulcysters.net/showthrea...hreadid=103489

on the mommy board, but then felt weird about posting it there. I didn't want to change the mood of the thread to sad and I thought you guys might understand more anyway. Here is what I wrote:

This thread made me cry. I'm glad I read it anyway thanks for sharing all your thoughts on it.

I know I'm going to know I'm a mommy right away, what's going to be hard is believing that I get to keep him.

I love what you all said about not believing this wonderful creature was yours though. It gave me some good memories along with the sadness.

Aviva (sorry to be a bit of a downer, couldn't help it)

I'm right there with ya, girlfriend. It will feel like an honor that I don't deserve and have somehow sneaked in and stolen when I get to keep this little one whom I already love dearly. It is impossible to imagine the flood of emotions that will happen when I see this baby's face, but I will most certainly WANT to be his mommy and take care of him, so I hope the connection and reality are there for me and I can enjoy every second. Too many of us around here know just what a priviledge it is to take care of a child and how powerfully we want to do that important job. I hope the transition from sad mom to happy mom is smooth and swift for all of us.
((Hugs))
