My Mood: Points: 45,879.77 Bank: 2,165,118.98 Total Points: 2,210,998.75 | Is it really all so complicated and difficult? Hello everyone,
My name's Leanne, i'm 25 years old, and live in Italy.
I found out about my PCOS's about a month ago, but have known that something is not right with me for about 4 years, what with weight gain, depression and 4 periods a year, I also suffer from under active thiroids, which doesn't help when it comes to loosing weight.
Anyway, after reading and researching a lot, it seems that getting pregnant whilst you have PCO's is nearly impossible without treatment.
I've been trying for nearly a year, without any success, and now I understand why.
But is there really no chance of getting pregnant without treatment? What are the statistics? I've seen that I have two choices, either some kind of fertility drug, which also has it's problems and risks, or an operation where they would drill holes on my ovaries!!!!!
And both of these take a lot of time and continuous check ups, and well anyone who has to work and keep a house together, well where do they find the time? If it comes down to it, it's obvious that I will do anything, but I can't afford to loose my job.
It's all so depressing, I spent most of my teenage years, be so vey careful not to get pregnant, and now that I want to I can't. |

However, others find that they need to work really hard at it....and it almost becomes a full time job!
welcome to SC, feel free to get in touch if you want to find out more. I'm sure the other Cysters will be available too!

I mean, basically I have to change my life style, because obviously I like to go out and have my fun at the weekends, I imagine alcohol is something that I have to eliminate..... Not that i'm an alcoholic!!
I've just ordered online PCOs and your fertility.
Eliminating carbs is going to be very difficult living in italy, but does eliminating mean that I can't even touch it???
All I want is to have a baby!!!

here is a sample of the diet http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/diet/gi_diet/sample_plan.htm

Can anyone give me like a percentage of how easy it is to get pregnant whilst having PCO's and hypo thyroids, with out taking any specific medication?
I don't know how long I should continue trying for without anything (apart from my hormone pills), it's basically been a year now that we're TTC, but no luck, and I can't do all that temperture thing because my periods aren't regular.
Any particular suggestions?

My Mood: Points: 6,908.02 Bank: 3.48 Total Points: 6,911.50 | Some people have luck without fertility treatments by using glucophage, which is a drug to treat diabetes but has had a lot of success in treating PCOS. I have two friends that conceived just by starting that drug. One of them had gone through 2 years of fertility treatments without any success at all. Glucophage was not the answer for me, but it helps a lot of people. |
