I am so p/o... Since January I have lost 17 pounds... thought I was doing quite well... gone down a size in clothes and been exercising as much as possible.
Anyway, every so often, I have a blip... usually when I am PMSing or my other health problems are particularly bad and I eat a bit naughtily - not terribly so, but enough to make me feel guilty and not lose any weight for a little bit.
My BF just asked me what I weighed... so I was like well I don't want to weigh myself right now because it's evening and I have just eaten and usually I weigh myself (naked) before I eat breakfast in the morning... I just know my body and that if I weigh now it will be significantly heavier than if I weighed tomorrow morning. So anyhow, he forces the issue... I go weigh myself and I am... 5 pounds up... 157!!! I feel so bad now... I just want to hit something... and he had the cheek to say that I should like: get back on track blah blah blah.
Have men no tact? Have people no idea how HARD it is to shift this fat? It's not like I don't try, it's not like I am not aware of when I am being naughty or making a food-choice mistake...
PLUS.. I have such problems anyway with my self-esteem and self-image... he knows about this... so why actually make it worse? I was doing really well trying to be more positive about myself... right now I just feel like the most disgusting fat blob ever...

I just wanted to let you know that I know what you are going through and I haven't lost NEARLY as much weight as you. I think that since it isn't the normal time that you weigh yourself, it makes a difference, especially at the end of the day. I fluctuate a huge amount sometimes from evening to morning.
You are doing great, just keep thinking that. Next time, don't cave and ask why it is so important for him to have a number. Give him the number that you had when you last weighed yourself at the proper time.
It makes me upset that he pressed the issue after you told him no and the reasons why.
I think you are doing AWESOME!!! You are over halfway to your goal! Everyone has pudgy days.....TRUST ME!! :p
Yeah you know what, this is not the first time that he has done this to me....
I have repeatedly given my reasons why I don't want to do it exactly when he says... so I do what you said and I just quote the figure of the last time I weighed... but (as ridiculous as this is)... I feel like I am LYING to him... ok I am warped haha.
What really annoys me is that: apart from knowing I ate badly today... I wasn't actually having a podgy day... and now because of him, I am!! That really sucks like a turbo vacuum...
*sigh*

Hi Girlie!
Don't let it get to you. It's probably just water weight or something. Did you see my post in diet/exercise? I've gained too. We are at exactly the same weight now, which is funny cuz we started at about the same weight. I know how discouraging it feels though. I feel like crud myself. Just continue to try and make the right eating choices and stick with it. Don't do it for him though, do it for yourself! Good luck, hope you're feeling better soon.
JoAnne
PS did you get my last email?
Weighed this morning and am apparently 153 - so NERRR to him haha. I hate it when people who have never had a weight problem try to boss me around!
Me2 - yeah you are right, I need to see the positive side of things... am very bad at this!!
Joanne - hey hun, yep I got your email... am going to reply to it now in fact.. my parents have gone away - left this morning - so I have some time on my hands
I can't believe we are going up and down like little yo-yos... gotta say I did eat chocolate cake this week, which was probably NOT the wisest choice in the world lol!!
*Sneeks away guiltily*

If he asks how much you weigh, tell him you don't know...and you aren't going to check, because it's not the numbers that matter. If you feel good, does it matter what the scale says?

I agree and also I can/could feel by my clothes that I am doing ok... and quite frankly it's my shape and the fit of my clothes that people notice.. they don't know what number in weight I am!!
