Shannon: My weight loss has been slow too. I have lost 5 pounds in the last year on the drug. Part of that may be that I am running 4 times per week and building muscle which is heavier than fat, but don't be discouraged. It was MONTHS before the drug built up in my system enough for me to see a real difference. I am slowly losing the round face that is so prevalent with PCOS, and seeing a difference, but the results, for me, were not quick or magical.
More important than the weight loss (which will come with continued use of the drug and a good diet), your doctor will monitor your Free Androgen level. THAT is the chemical that determines if the drug is working for you, and is the thing that determines the added hair growth. periods etc.
As my mom tells me..."Your body was like this for 8 years, you can't expect 8 years worth of wacky hormones to change overnight"! Good advice! See the little victories...becuase 1 pound per month will be 12 pounds next year.
Hang in there!
