Default Is That really True?

The other day I saw someone post a comment on here that said the extended release version didn't work for PCOS and IR. That only the regular Met that you take throughout the days works. Of course I can't find the comment again, to see if anyone responded to it. I am on 1000 mg of the er, but I also have the other, should I be switching since Im TTC? I am horrible at remember to take things, so I was relieved when the er came out. But I would make an effort if its more effective.

I have heard that it didnt work as well. HOwever I am on 2000mg of it and my RE who studies pcos is the one that changed me to the er form. I would think he would know with all his studies if it worked as well. I am now 19weeks pregnant and I do believe it helped me to get this way.

some people respond to it just fine. I think it really depends on the person and the way their body responds. That's how my endo explained it to me.

I posted not too long ago that my gyn prescribed 1500mg Met XR (because I asked her to - I preferred to take it just once a day). After about two years on XR, I asked her for a referral to an endo, and he upped the dosage to 2000mg and said he preferred me to take the non-XR. I didn't ask him why because I had read the opinions that Met XR may not work as well.
