Okay - I've not seen any posts on this before and I'm just going to take the plunge and be out with it.
When I was pregnant with my daughter I got REALLY hairy. I mean, "missing-link" ape hairy. The most embarassing area is my stomach.
Now, please understand - I always had that little "happy trail" from my navel down to the nether regions. No issues there. But post pregnancy, since my PCOS has really gone into high gear, my stomach is COVERED in hair. We're talking side to side, right above the belly button down. Basically, I'm just one big hairy beast from my mid belly to my cankles. Lovely, I know.
My question is - how on earth does one go about getting rid of THAT much hair? I don't want to shave it because it is really soft and fine right now (although black and frighteningly obvious against my shark bait white skin). It would take me 100000 hours to try and tweeze it. I can't use NAIR because my skin is too sensitive and I break out.
My wonderful boyfriend absolutely adores me, no matter how "fuzzy" I am, but I dream of being feminine and hairless, lol. I shave my arms elbow to wrist daily, my chin several times a day and should shave my legs daily but to be honest I just wear pants and wait until it disgusts me again, lol.
What about my belly!?????????
Any ideas would be OH SO APPRECIATED!

I have the same hair problem on my belly (and it's creepin' ever northward!!!!!) I would look into laser if it's financially feasible.
That's the 3rd spot on my list of places to have lasered. 2nd being my arms. I'm in the process of having my face (all of it) done now. Shaving all of that is just too hard on my skin, as I also have extremely sensitive skin. It doesn't help that my belly hair is the same texture as hair further south
Sorry I don't have more advice than that. Hopefully someone else will post and help us both out!
Have you tried Nair for your face on your stomache? I can't use regular nair, but the facial stuff is much gentler.

I know what you mean. Before I got preg. I had a small patch that went from my belly button down to the rest of the hair. When I got preg. it really spread up and out. I never understood why being preg would cause hair growth. I mean, isn't that the most feminine thing a woman could possibly do. That's when I got the facial hair too. Sometimes I wonder if I would be this hairy if I never had children. Of course, I would never trade the hair for my children. If that's the price I had to pay to have my kids I would gladly to it all over again.
I started out bleaching the hair on my belly when I was preg and it is very time consuming. (i have to leave it on for about 20-30 min and it has to be done everyday) And since I kinda keep the hair issues secret I was hiding out in the bathroom to do it. It also take alot of the product to cover a large area like that. Those little jars are not cheap when you have to buy them so often.
Shaving for me is fast and easy but it did leave those little bumps and caused some ingrown hairs. Which baffles me because I don't have that problem with my legs. The best method I find is waxing. It does cause the little bumps for a day or two but it takes much longer to grow back and it's not itchy like shaving.
I use NADS to wax but I haven't tried many other waxing products since this one works so well for me.
Hope this helps.
I feel your pain. I get too much hair on my legs, underarms, belly, bikini, and even have several long hairs that pop up around my nipples. It is disgusting! Why on earth were we punished like this? All my life I have just wanted to be feminine!!!
I dread shaving too because my skin breaks out so bad. I have to soak in the tub for hours before shaving just so I don't break out...who has time for that! Luckily my BF is very understanding and knows that I am 1) sensitive about the excess hair and 2) how difficult it becomes to stay hair-free.
I have tried nair and even that new product deet. But they irritate my skin and I still get red itchy bumps afterward. I too have learned to deal with it and more often than not just wear jeans and shave my legs when I just can't stand it anymore.
None of my girlfriends are like me. I can't talk to them about my pcos problems. I am so glad for all of you.
