Default Reborn In The Usa?

Hi everyone,

is anyone watching this programme? I am and I love it - my favourite has always been Tony Hadley and I hope he wins. He is such a versatile performer.

But what happened Peter Cox? My God, he was going great and he just threw it all away. I wouldnt have even noticed if he missed the words. He could have gotten away with it!

Anyway my vote is for Tony!

Anyone else?

Helen

I missed the last one but Peter Cox was my fave, I loved Spandau Ballet but I don't like Tony Hadley as a person.

How did Michelle Gayle get on? she seems to breeze it every week but I think she sings off key!

never mind Big Brother 4 is starting in a few weeks and I have already started visiting the website to get me in the mood, I LOVE IT! I even loved the Salon!

and I'm a celebrity get me out of here is about to start - waheeeeey! oh I'm so sad!

Omg I am so glad you started this thread! I was so 'mad' that Peter Cox got kicked off! It is so wrong because he never once got nominated for eviction (unlike Michelle Gayle and even Tony Hadley himself!) and even won three of the heats (something no-one else achieved - if it had gone on this fact alone, he would have been the outright winner!) I think it should have been down to the UK audience to choose between Peter and Michelle for the final (as in all the other heats) - that way I feel sure Michelle would never have got that far. Peter made a mistake- so what? That doesn't take away from the fact that he is infinitely superior to Michelle, mistakes or not!

I absolutely adore Peter Cox and he has been a huge vocal inspiration for me for many years (as a pro-singer myself) I was so gutted for him that he cocked it up last week, even to the point of emailing him via his website - how sad is that lol?!

Michelle Gayle is so up her own arse! Tony is like someone's lechy old dad nowadays but quite likeable really! I always predicted he would be the winner but I think it would have been more realistic to have had the final between Peter and Tony. Michelle really didn't stand a chance!

Oh well, in my eyes Peter Cox will always be the true Reborn Winner - he remained a true gentleman right to the end. I always loved him as a singer, now I love him as a person too He is truly one of our greatest, yet most under-rated singers of our time! That's me done spouting off! But it had to be said lol!

Default Aww you missed it

It was last night and Tony Hadley did win! YAY!!! Michelle Gayle performed pretty well, considering she must have known she had no chance

But Tony Hadley? WOW! Incredible! He knew he had to thrash her, to prove a point. And thrash her he did! He sang 'Through the Barricades'! One of my all time favourite songs and boy did he do it justice! It was awesome. Tony also sang 'Walking in Memphis' and 'Mack the knife'

They each had to sing 3 songs with one of those songs being one of their own hits. Michelle sang her song 'Sweetness' which I must confess I actually went and bought when it was released :o And she also sang 'Love me Tender' and 'Say a little prayer for you' (not sure if that is the correct title? Think it was a Dionne Warwick song?)

It was a really good show, far better than any of the embarrassing previous heats in US, where the american audience obviously just couldn't handle Davina's pathetic attempts at humour (I found this really cringeworthy!) They also had a live band last night - far better than those crappy backing tracks they were using before. The sound quality was far superior too, which was great but I think this should have been done for all the shows - it seemed such a cheap, low budget thing for all the heats and I don't think it gave the US audience an opportunity to see the contestants in their true glory.

But for me, the highlight of the night had to be Dollar's performance by far! It was the most $hite, embarrassing, hilarious thing I have ever seen (bar some similarly tacky cruise ship/holiday park duos!) I can only imagine that they felt annoyed at the fact that they were the only ones who didn't get to 're-sing' on the shows after being evicted (probably because being the first to be evicted, there was simply not enough time in the 60 minute show and as the weeks went by and the numbers of contestants decreased, they had to fill the show up somehow) I don't know who's idea it was to let them re-sing at the final (although I suspect that they kicked up a fuss, claiming unfairness and being singled out etc lol!!) but regardless it served to do two things:

1. They will always be remembered for being an embarrassing, $hite, naff duo!
2. Far from showing everyone what they were missing, it gave them a double humiliation, as no-one surely could have watched that tacky performance and thought, 'Hmmm I really wish I'd voted for Dollar now and not Sonia.....'

In my opinion, they should have backed out gracefully in the first week and prayed for an epidemic of 'global amnesia'!!! But no, they felt 'hard done by' and like overgrown spoilt brats, they obviously felt cheated! The funny thing is, it's like they just cannot accept that they haven't got any redeeming qualities to keep their old audiences interested, let alone attract a new younger one! How they ever got as far as they did all those years ago, will remain one of life's eternal mysteries! So now they have made themseves look like a laughing stock TWICE! How cool is that?

Wow! There I go again! Turned it into an almighty opinionated rant! As you can see, I take this all far too seriously lol! Oh well, you may be able to see for yourself, as all the previous shows were repeated some time during the week in the early hours of the morning on ITV1, so I am guessing this one will be too. Set your video and prepare to be stunned!

Re Dollar - did anyone every see that episode of 'Trouble at the Top' about the bloke from Dollar joining Bucks Fizz, behaving like the arrogant git he is, leaving and then setting up his own rival 'Bucks Fizz'? Given his behaviour on that programme and in that situation him feeling 'hard done by' for losing so early on in this programme seems utterly to character!
