I would like to let you all know a bit about the benefits of Yoga.
I have had wonderful results since taking up yoga (around a year ago). I am not an excercise person! I have tried going to gyms before and even went religiously every day for some time, however, all I succeeded in doing was putting weight on and injuring myself.
I was amazed when I started to do yoga, as even after around a week, I could see small changes starting to take effect in my body shape. It doesn't feel like exercise to me as it is so relaxing and also good fun. After a few months of doing Yoga, my weight had reduced and stabilised, my body shape and body image was much improved and I naturally gravitated toward healthier foods. Along with this, I was calmer and more relaxed with less worries and a greater understanding of things.
Yoga is easy to do (you only go as far as you can, it doesn't matter if you don't perfect a posture, just doing what you can without strain is all that's required to reap the benefits of it). You can do it at home by yourself (I do it from a book) and you can join a class (I go once a week to class).
For those of you who are worried that everybody at the class will be a trim, young, toned yoga expert, please don't worry, I have never found a class where this is the case. There are generally people there of all ages and they are all there for the same reasons as you!! In my class, I am the youngest (27) and my teacher is the eldest (70), she is fantastic!
I just wanted to share this with you as Yoga has helped me a lot and I am sure it could help you too.
