Default Recipe for hair & insulin resistance

Hi all,

I have been taking the nopal smoothie (prickly pear cactus leave) since January. It's worked really well I have lost about 8 pounds.

Now, I wanted to try the spearmint tea for my excess hair, but I found it really hard to include it in my routine.

So, yesterday, I opened two of the tea bags and emptied them in the blender with the nopal leave.

Well, the flavour of the thing improved dramatically and I must say that it's easier to keep up with the spearmint.

Hi Sallyn,

It's really easy. Go to your grocer's (or organic shop) and buy the nopal leaves raw. You will need half of a leave for your smoothie, clean it so that it has no spines (they usually come clean) and give it a good rinse. After that just break it into medium sized pieces and put them in the blender with half pint of water and its done! For the spearmint, just cut open two tea bags and empty the contents into the blender along with the nopal leave. Blend for about 30 secs.

I have mine before breakfast. Some people like adding some fresh fruit (pineaple, grapefruit juice...) in order to improve the flavour, but I personally can't be bothered (too lazy).

Don't buy too many leaves as they go funny about after being in the fridge for about a week or so.
