Default Red Bumps on upper arms

I have had red bumps on my upper arms for as long as I can remember, I shower daily, Ive tried scrubbing my arms till theyre red and moisturize it daily. Im very self conscious about them and now theyre on my upper legs and have moved down to my fore arms. Anyone else experience this or have any advice?

I use Dream Cream from Lush and it really seems to help. I hate KP (the skin issue, not the lotion recommended by Tori Fan LOL).

Default The best thing for KP

In my experience, the best thing for KP is Amlactin. It comes in a lotion and in a cream, but the cream seems to be more effective. It is a bit expensive, but I personally noticed improvement after one application. Just be warned if you try it -- be sure to use it on completely dry skin or it will create an ammonia smell.

Is that a prescription? Because I did get something like that through my derm but when I put it on, it would feel like the lotion would literally drip off of me, even though it wasn't. It was the strangest feeling and I couldn't continue with it. I'm glad that works for you!!

I was told this was a symptom of an omega 3 deficiency and it can run in families. My Mother and brother both have it and all of us have had it since we were children.

I take one high strength omega 3 (EPA fish oil) capsule everyday. Each capsule gives 180mg of EPA and 120mg DHA and one capsule a day seems to be enough though the label says you can take up to three each day. I tried taking more, but it didn't work any better or faster and I spent more buying it.

It took six months to have a noticeable effect but after 18 months my skin is almost completely normal. I've also noticed that my skin texture in general is much better and it no longer gets sandpaper dry in the winter.

I think that Avon now sells a product for this as well.

It's not prescription. You can buy it on Amazon or at Drugstore.com. You might also find it at your local pharmacy as well. Here's a link to it on Drugstore.com with user reviews:

Its expensive, but Peter Thomas Roth "UnWrinkle" pads will help.

I tried a lot of topicals, and fit tons of flax in my diet for the Omega-3, but nothing really helped until I got the muscles of my arms toned, especially lots of triceps work.
