Default Red, dry skin one minute and oily the next

I was just wondering how many of you with PCOS have skin issues (other than acne). I'm talking about your skin being really oily one minute and then red and blotchy and flaky the next minute? I hate it!!!

me. I have both all at once. I start off the day great, but by afternoon, my whole face looks slathered in bacon grease, especially my forehead and temples. I've tried moisturizers, and just can't get the oil under control. I can't wear bangs because of it. My face is always dry (flaky), especially on my nostrils and the areas above the corners of my mouth.

Hi Ladies!

What we have is called Seborrhea or Seborrhoeic_dermatitis
check it out on wikipedia

and the trick is that it LOOKS like dry skin, but it's really because it's oily!

For years I would put moisturizer and lotion on it, not realizing I was contributing to the problem.

I've started trying to wash my face every day/night, or sometimes every couple of hours.

The best guess most doctors have is that there is a form of yeast feeding on the sebum and the yeast irritates the skin.

I get mine on the nape hair line and here and there on my scalp, and around my nose, mouth and eyebrows.

For my scalp, I've gotten Selsun Blue with 3% Salicylic acid in it. It seems to suppress it enough to keep me from scratching all day.

It still isn't 100% enough, and even now my upper lip is incredibly itchy and I just took a shower this afternoon.

so ya... Seborrhoeic_dermatitis... I haz it, you probably haz it too. (It was one of the things that clued me into having PCOS)

I think the first step is to clean the face, then
Add moisture to the skin. I am using this Perricone MD Skin Clear Kit , keep my face clean but not dry.
