Default Regrowth after how long?

How long can hair loss have been occuring before it is too late for it to grow back? One doctor told me that after three years the hairfollicle dies so you can only regain hair lost in the last 3 years. I have had PCOS a lot longer than that, hoping I'll be able to grow more back. What have others experienced or heard?

Hi,

I am really curious about this as well. I hope it isn't true since I've had undiagnosed pcos for years and am now trying to get 8 years of hair back.

I read on another website, hairloss.net, something about women's hairloss often being reversible compared to men's. Maybe it takes more time for a women than a man to have their follicles die. I hope.
