Default Regular Met or Met ER

For some reason my last thread was "locked" I don't know what the heck that means?
I'm wondering is Met ER is just as effective as Regular Met.
I took Reg met 2000mg. and had my first son. The symptoms of Reg Met is horrible for me now so I started Met ER to ttc#2. I'm now up to 2000mg of Met ER and I'm having about the same toilet troubles as on Reg Met.
Does anyone know if they are equally effective?
Thank you.

I just made my 1st visit to a fertility specialist yesterday. Was on only 500mg of Met (regular). She is upping (gradually) me to 2000mg on Met ER. She said the ER would still have some of the same side effects for a while but that they would be less (at least eventually) because it is "extended release"... hoping that is true somewhere along the way because the regular Met hasn't been very nice to my tummy either...

I was on 1700 mg of regular met, but I just couldn't handle the side effects anymore. My doctor has me on 1000mg of the ER and I have to say that I love it. I don't have the high and low bloodsugars and I don't have the tummy issues. I am going to up my dose soon. Good luck!

I am also having no/low side effects on the ER version. Has anyone restarted their cycle with ER? That's the goal for me right now. I know it can take a few months, but has anyone seen that?

I was having regular cycles before, 35-40 days apart. It is CD 37 for me and nothing! I usually spot for a day or two before. I am hopeful though.
