I am wondering what my options are for regulating my period w/o bcp? I never have wanted to go on them, but recently decided if they will give me a regulated cycle I might try them, then researching and finding that bcp may not be the best with pcos...so are there other options?
I know of provera, but does that have long-term effects? I dont want to do anything to mess my body up any more!! I have been losing weight and hopefully that will help, but in the meantime I need to be having my periods more than 1x every 2-5 months.

I was in the same position. I read a lot about this and found Progesterone Cream. I get regular periods now. This can be purchased online, I got mine from wal-mart. It is important that you purchase the cream from the same plae all the time. The reason for that is because each maker uses a different amount. You put it on "soft area" of skin. This would be arms, thighs, face, legs, bottom. It should be used twice a day. I do it morning and night. I also rotate where I put it. For example, arms (in the morning) and thigh (in the night). You use it for 14 days, then stop. If the period still doesn't come, the begin using it again. When I started I used it for 14 days and my period came 2 days later. Now I used it for only 11 because my period comes on the 12th day. The start of my period is day 1. I wait 14 days then use the cream again. i hope this helps. Plus it is all natural. NO SIDE EFFECTS!!!

It helps with fertility. I bought an ovulation kit to see if I was ovulating with the cream and I was. Currently I am not ttc but my friend was and I told her about the cream and we will be welcoming little Aliya into the world in three months. The good thing about it is that it will help the body heal itself

I don't ovulate at all (as far as i know), i haven't had a bleed for 4 years ! My doctor has tried giving me progesterone to bring on a period, we tried it on 3 occassions but nothing happened. Do you think that cream would work for me? If so, do you have the web addy so i could order some?
Thanks

the only thing that has regulated my cycles (besides BCP) is metformin. I take 1000mg and I usually have a 30-33day cycle. Once I had 60 and 14 day cycles. Without the metformin, I go 6-8 months w/o a period :o(

There are many different places that you can get the cream. I usually do a google search. I found it in Wal-Mart where the vitamins are. Everything that I have read about the cream said that it is important for woman that have PCOS. I hope it works
