Default Relatively new to PCOS

Hello girls. I have posted before but mostly just come here when I have questions that I want to ask without having to go to the doctor. So let me give some history and see what you think.

April 19-diagnosed with PCOS by an ultrasound when going to find out if 4 month hiatus from period if pregnant (obviously we know that answer)
April 30th-Started taking Provera 10 mg for 10 days doctor says I should cycle 5-10 days after last pill.
May 5th- Start taking Metaformin 500 mg for a week
May 9th- Last day of Provera
May 12th- First day of period and taking (1) 750 mg of Metaformin, legs are hurting a bit, gyno says to take advil it should help and it does.
May 18th- Last day of period
May 19th- Taking 2 Metaformin 750 mg
May 27th- Period again brown in color, not heavy, no pain like normal

Ok so what I am worried about is the period so close only 16 days or so to the end of the last one. If this is happening am I ever really ovulating? Is this really considered a period? I have been told that this so called bleeding/spotting could be what happens when I ovulate but that doesn't make any sense.

It seems like there are some questions that my gyno doesnt even know when I ask. Anyone experiencing this themselves? As much reading as I have done it still seems like you girls are much more educated then my gyno!

I don't know much about Met being used to induce ovulation, but I did notice that there seems to be a pattern going on. You started Met, a week later AF visits, then you triple your dosage, and 8 days later, your spotting.
