Default Religion at a later age

I was never a christening & have always hated this, my mum's answer was, she was forced to go to church as a child & hated it & so wanted me & my sister to pick our own faiths. My sister has never really been bothered by it, but I have recently decided I need to find a faith.

Has anyone either converted to another religion or found a religion at a later age & what were people's reactions to this. I'm just worried about telling people, & how they are going to take it esp. my parents, if it's something other than church of England (Anglican)

I am 30 and haven't been to church in years, recently I decided to give church another go. When I looked up our local phone directory there were 730 listings ( for all sorts of faiths, etc ).

It is really hard to choose from a list, so I am being guided by the others in the Faith Forum (some are saying prayers for me) and I am just going to "follow my heart" with it.

I spoke to my mum the other day (she raised me as an Seventh Day Adventist) and told her I probably won't go back to being an SDA. She was actually fine with it.

She said: "It's what you think & do, and also what's in your heart that matters."

Default I just wanted to say...

Good Luck with your search. Once you find that prefect fit you will never regret it.

God Bless
