Default Removal of cysts via surgey

Hi just wondering if anyone else had surgey to remove cysts?

On Oct 23/03 I have surgey to remove a dermoid cyst the size of an orange from my left ovary. On my right ovary the Dr drained another large cyst and also drained smaller cysts. The Dr was able to save both ovaries!!
(Had a set back after the surgey with being admitted back into hostipal with a serve case of pnemonia).

O.k. my question to anyone who has had surgey to remove cysts:
1. Did you have a peroid afterwords?
2. Did you have any side effects of the surgey - cysts coming back... scars not healing?
3. Did any get pg afterwords?

I have lost weight before the surgey.... now with the pnemonia I have lost even more weight (around 30 pounds since Christmas 02)

Anything else you can help me with since I'm very nervous with the whole PCOS Situation.
Hoping to get pg within the next year.

Thanks!!

Hi, I am another cyster who has had a Dermoid Cyst removed by surgery. Here is my story in a nutshell........

Almost 10 years ago I was told I had a Dermoid Cyst on my left ovary. It was removed along with the ovary, it was 9cm. I got pg 5 months later with dd Anna. Got on bcp and in 3 months gained 30 lbs. Got off of them, but weight continued to climb. about 4 or 5 years ago AF got crazy and I would go 6 months without one! I FINALLY was diagnosed with PCOS In Oct 2003. Dh and I have been ttc for about 6 years now and I finally have answers as to why no babies! I am hoping to get my weight down and ttc this summer seriously!

I haven't had any recurring cysts, but my family has a history of fibroid tumors and endo, etc. You are not alone! Feel free to email me to talk or send me a PM. Good luck!

Just wanted to share in July of this year I had a large dermoid cyst (the size of a baseball) removed from my right ovary. I also had ovarian drilling at the same time. I healed fast from the surgery and started having regular periods, mind you I only had two and then conceived early September after two and half years of ttc. I am so happy I had the surgery and so far nothing has come back.

Hope this helps.

lol
