Sorry! Tomorrow you'll get a big update.
I went to OB on Monday, and we just talked a few things over. She took some blood to check my thyroid and prolactin levels. Turns out, both are normal, so she is stumpted as to why/how I'm still lactating! I have another appt with her on Aug. 3rd, she's going to take some of my shtuff and look at it under a slide. I tried explaining, it's not..puss or anything, tastes like normal stuff (I needed to check to make sure it wasn't puss, tasting is the best way).

Anyway, I've had a fever on and off for weeks now. The bleeding will NOT go away. Everytime I think it's done, it comes right back again! So I called the OB on call this weekend, and she says I have to go in tomorrow (Monday) and get bloodwork, a pelvic, and an ultrasound done. She said some women can bleed 3 months postpardum, but I was trying to explain to her how it can get really heavy, then be nothing, then go back to heavy. With the fever and generally ****ty feeling, she wants to check things out.
So they have a new urgent care clinic at Magee, YAY! No more ER horrors (generally ER exams are horrible and painful) and I don't have to wait until Aug 3rd! So I have to call the hosp in the morning, let them know i"m coming, and go see one of the OB's.
I don't know if they can help, but I honestly just want this bleeding to freakin stop already! I can't take more daily reminders of what happened. I WANT to heal, but I need to finish physically healing, first. It's just so hard.
and TMI, but the discharge isn't red, it isn't pink, it's between. And yes, it has a bit of a odor, but it's also hot as hell here, so maybe some of that is sweat?? Either way, I'll let you all know tomorrow what happens.

I will definitely be checking in to hear an update after your exam. It sounds similar to Adrianne's situation... she ended up with a d&c a few months after Gabriel came because her lining just wasn't right. There could have been something remaining from the placenta/pregnancy stuff. That can lead to a bad infection, and we don't want that for you!! I hope someone knows what's going on immediately and gets you fixed up. And good luck with the milk. Our emotions can influence that too, so even normal levels can lead to production for some women. Have you literally iced them down? I was told after Mary Catherine to wear a tight bra 24/7 and ice them down if I got uncomfortable. Good luck.

Renee,

I am SO glad that you checked in with us. I was just thinking about you and how we haven't heard from you.

I am sorry things aren't going well with your body. It totally sucks when our bodies just won't work they way we know they should. Maybe Sheri is right maybe the samething is happening to you that happened to Adrianne.

As for the milk it totally sucks that it's coming in still. We lost our little one at 7w3d and I was having drops of milk leak out from me. It was AWFUL. Not only did I lose my little baby but I had to be reminded everytime the milk came out. Not that I wasn't thinking about our baby every second of everyday. It was just another dager in my heart.

I am sorry! I really wish I could make things better for you....and all my cysters.

Thanks for checking in and I'll be looking forward to your update.

Michele

Well, quickie before I go. Called the clinic today (clinic is the outpatient clinic at Magee) anyway, talked to a nurse...and grr...she said I need to go through the ER if there is any risk that I have an infection. *****. So I'm taking my time getting dressed, cuz I'm not looking forward to sitting in the ER all day...

Oh Renee, I'm so sorry you have to go to the ER. That really stinks I hope that it is quiet there and you can get out of there quickly.

After I had Gabriel, I bled for about two weeks and then NOTHING for two months. I had some pinkish-red "spotting" (not enough for a pad... just a pantyliner) for a week and then nothing for another two months. That's when I had the D&C. The doc said I had a really thick lining and that I probably would have started to bleed on my own in a few weeks... which I did. Sounds like you have the opposite of me, actually. In any case, I hope you get some answers soon.

I'm sorry you have to go to the crappy ER. Maybe it's just me, since my mom's worked in both ERs and UCCs, but isn't the POINT of an urgent care center to take away the non-life-threatening cases from the ER? That's the way it works at my mom's hospital, anyway. Hmm... This sucks.

Ok, I went. Everything came back normal. Blood, urine, vaginal swabs...all normal. So the ER doc said "how would you like to not bleed for 3 months?" I said yes...she gives me RX for Seasonale. She said it should stop the bleeding within a week, since it's hormone related. So, that's that. I hope it works.
I have a pelvic u/s to get, too. Have to make an appt for that sometime before my Aug. 3rd appt. But so far, it seems it all my hormones being stupid.

Bah. 4 hours in the ER for that
