Their statistics are excellent however my short experience is nothing to brag about. In fact out of the 5 clinics that I have dealt with in Canada they are in last place. However that is just my experience.
This site I found extremely helpful in my journey when it came to learning about clinics. The down side is you have to join to read...which is not necessarily a bad thing. This site although not as helpful has been informative at times.
Good Luck!
If traveling from Tokyo there are other clinics you may want to consider. |

My Mood: Points: 1,638.68 Bank: 743.34 Total Points: 2,382.03 | I saw Doc. Corenblum in Calgary as well. He prescribed Met but very reluctantly since he was sure it wouldn't work.
It seems to have worked for me at least...
But once he knew I was pg, he wanted me to stop. I haven't.
Well he is a scientific guy heavily into research and all that. Having been part of such things in a former life, I know how divided scientists can be about certain issues. I respect that..
I just don't want to stop Met because he says there is no hard evidence one way or another..
Also thought he would monitor my other pg harmones to see if I was doing okay etc.
Nothing of that sort. He basically wanted nothing to do with me or my pg till it was all over...
Sorry about my rant. Hope you find a good doc.

Points: 559.13 Bank: 0.00 Total Points: 559.13 | I also saw Dr. Corenblum at the FMC in Calgary. I quite liked him, and found him affable and friendly. With me, he laid out all my options and asked which I would like to try. He offered met, bcp, Clomid + trigget shot, injectibles + trigger shot.
Because I was pursuing pregnancy and not, at that time, concerned with treating my PCOS, I went for the injectibles. ( I had previously spent 18 months on Clomid to no avail, and my ob/gyn labelled me a " tough nut to crack" and sent me on to the RE).
After the initial appt, I worked mainly with Alice, the nurse-practitioner on his staff. She was fabulous, and vey thorough and organized. I did conceive on my first cycle of injectibles ( 9 vials + trigger shot) and DS is now six.
I also saw Dr. Corenblum prior to my 2nd pregnancy 2+ years ago, and conceived twins through injectibles ( 21 vials + trigger shot) and my dd's are now 19 months. (They were born at 28 weeks gestation).
To get an appt. with him, you will need a referral from your Dr - either family or ob/gyn.
Good luck

He does know his stuff and he did help me get to where I am today and I am grateful.

My Mood: Points: 167.88 Bank: 5,038.29 Total Points: 5,206.17 | Another suggestion - the Regional Fertility Program which I notice was mentioned above without really saying anything personal about them...I also had a great experience with them. Yes, they do have a great record and have walls of baby pics to prove it. We (I) did 5 cycles of clomid, u/s (trans vag, yuck!) trigger shot and IUI. By the 5th, we were getting discouraged and then my husbands disability was cut off unexpectedly (he had a severe shoulder separation while we were going through all this!!) and we couldn't afford to have the IUI ($500). I called and told them to cancel and that since I had started the clomid already, we'd just try on our own that month. I got a call back an hour or so later telling me that we were being given a compassionate cycle - FREE treatment!! This just so happens to be the one that worked.
The Re I saw there was Dr. J O'Keene, but there a Dr. Green (the director)and a dr. Scott (female) as well. They all have great reputations and we were consistently treated with respect. |

I am not new to infertility, just new to the province and have to start from scratch with a new doctor. I suppose they will need to get my old records etc.

Last year when I moved from Ontario to Calgary. I contacted the clinic the begining of February and had my consult by March or April.
It really didn't take long at all.
You may just want to have them request your records to save $$$. |
