Reputation Points

By clicking on the gray scale in the bottom left hand corner of someone’s post you can compliment the poster with good karma. Be sure and leave a message with your name so the recipient knows who sent them the good karma. This adds points to their reputation. These points are not taken away from you in any way. You can only give out so many karma points per day (24 hour period). The amount of times you can hand out karma in a 24 hour period depends on how long you have been a member of SoulCysters and how many points you have yourself. You can figure this out by spreading karma and counting each time you do until you get a message saying you have given out too much karma and have to wait 24 hours. Just as you are able to give reputation points by spreading karma, others may give you reputation points. You can check your recent karma messages under your User CP. (There is a quick link to your User CP at the top of the web page) It will only show you messages from your 5 most recent karma received. Here you can also see how many karma points you have. When you post a green square is shown under your amount of posts. As karma is sent your way and you accumulate points the amount of green squares will go up. If you hover over green squares it displays different “sayings” that will change as your points go up as well.

Ribbons & Gifts

Each time you post replies, start threads, and when others reply to your threads you will accumulate points. These points earned can be spent buying ribbons and gifts. You can find how many points you have in your profile. (If you do not have enough points you cannot even get into the store – See Actions below) There is also an option there to Donate points to another cyster. If you choose to donate some points, click on donate and follow the steps. There is a fee for donating points, although the fee varies for everyone, it is a small fee. (Of course the fee is taken from your points) Ribbons can be purchased with your points for yourself and will be displayed each time you post. You are able to send gifts to other cysters with your points but cannot purchase gifts for yourself. The gifts will be displayed under their name each time they post. Only up to 20 gifts can be seen under your name on each post. You can rotate your gifts that are shown under your USER CP.

At the top of the web page, you will see Ribbons & Gifts when you click on this a drop down menu will display the following:

Bank – You can deposit you points into the bank to withdraw when you are ready to purchase a ribbon or gift. This option was originally installed so that people could not steal your points if you put them safely in “the bank”. However, Kat disabled the option to steal others points. You can also use this feature to put your points in the bank and earn interest on your points. 2% interest per day.

Richest Members – This shows a listing of how many points each member of SoulCysters has starting with the members with the highest amount of points.

Most Sold – This will give you a history and count of everything that has been sold and donated.

History – This will show your history of bank deposits, withdraws, and ribbons and gifts that you have purchased and sent.

Actions – Everyone will have different prices for ribbons and gifts and Username Change based on how long you have been a member of SoulCysters, etc. By clicking on Actions you will find the amount of points that you have to pay for Ribbons and Gifts.

Change Username – If you are having regrets about your username and want to change it then you can purchase a new username with your points. You can find the pricing for this under Actions.

Ribbons – You may purchase a ribbon with your points to be displayed under your name each time you post. The ribbons mean different things and there are 27 to choose from.

Gifts – Gifts can be sent to a fellow cyster as a way to show your appreciation, friendship, congrats, etc. By clicking on Gifts and following the menu you can choose from a large variety of gifts to be sent. These gifts will show up each time the cyster posts. You can type a message when you send the gift that will be displayed each time you hover your mouse over the gift on the user’s post.

Wow, thanks! That helps a lot! I've been with Soulcysters since Kat first developed it. I take a break for a little while to move and finally get back here and EVERYTHING has changed! Oh well, miss a little, miss a lot. (and I love everything anyway!)

Glad I kept looking for info on the store, I think I understand it now!

Actually, can I ask one more thing? How much are each of the different things? I thought the ribbons were 22.0, and I have 25.4, but "i don't have enough for that option" when I go there, but I can give a gift... A "price list" would be great!

I'm not sure on the prices, but make sure the money is in your pocket, not in the bank. If it is in the bank you can't buy things, you have to withdraw it first

Go to Ribbons & Gifts and click on Actions. This will tell you the price of each item.

Everyone's pricing is different. So a price list would be innacurate. See Actions in the first post for the explanation.

Is there anywhere posted that tells you how many points you get for each action? Like 5 points for posting a new topic, etc? That way we'd know for future reference?

Thanks...also are these points in addition to, or different from the reputation points?

And is there a time frame when your points update? I've posted new topics and replies, yet my points total hasn't changed...

I am so confused...

rep points are different. rep is given to you by other people. give me a minute and i'll give you some rep points, then click on the user cp button at the top of your screen and you should see it.

Hmm I tried to give Rep points and it didn't work? This is confusing me to no end I can buy gifts though
