It's extremely common for women with PCOS to have hair which grows in the pattern usually associated with males -- i.e. they frequently have male-type body hair and moustache and beard growth and their scalp hair starts receding at the temples and crown and then the whole top of the head.
Insofar as there's good news, balding generally starts later and proceeds a bit slower than in males. You may also be interested to know that hair loss affects 40% of women by age 60. If there were some miracle cure, there'd be no bald women and probably no bald men either, so it's better to acknowledge the realities of the situation.
You're losing hair at the temples -- the place most males start losing it too, so it's almost certainly male-pattern baldness you have. As, for that matter, do I, although mine is progressing only very slowly. For myself I certainly wouldn't rule out the possibility of wearing a wig, but I don't feel that I need that yet.
