On Thursday, April 10, 2008, people from across the nation who care about family building issues will exercise their rights, and journey to Washington, DC, to meet with their Congressional leaders.
RESOLVE constituents will meet with staff members of their U.S. Senators and House Representatives to discuss issues we care about
:
* Co-sponsorship of The Family Building Act of 2007 (HR2892), federal legislation mandating insurance coverage for infertility diagnosis and treatment. For more information on this legislation including a list of current co-sponsors, click here.
* Make permanent the adoption tax credit.
* Increased funding for medical research for the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
* Support the goals of RESOLVE's National Infertility Awareness Week, October 19-25, 2008.
No experience is necessary. RESOLVE will schedule all your congressional appointments, and provide all the information you will need for your appointments. Preparation for Advocacy Day will include training via teleconference prior to the event, as well training on the day of the event. You don't have to come alone! Bring your best friend, your mother, your sister, your significant other. Please note that for logistical reasons, we are not able to accommodate children during Advocacy Day.

All travel costs including airfare, mileage, etc. are covered by each participant. Some expenses may tax-deductible.
What to Expect During Advocacy Day
Don’t let the unknown keep you from registering! After the morning training session you will be sent off to attend your appointments complete with maps, talking points, and all the important information you need for a successful day. Most likely you’ll be meeting with a staff person for your Congressman and you’ll be discussing the points we’ll give you during the training session.
Don’t underestimate the importance of this event.
