I had a routine blood test on wednesday, I thought everything would be ok but now I have been asked to make a (none urgent) appoinment to see the doctor. Im assuming it is regarding the blood test. It cant really be anything else.
I've jsut got this reallt bad feeling it is diabetes! (IF) it is then can it be reversed?
I believe diabetes is a chronic condition with no "cure", but depending on how bad it is you may just need to make changes to your diet or take an oral medication. I'm sure others cysters will have better info for you! Good luck!

Hi Pamie --
From what all I've read, it is not reversable but it is manageable. Just make sure you take care of yourself, have a good doctor, and be your own advocate. Take care and good luck!

Did you take the fasting test for diabetes or was this just a blood test?
At any rate, type II diabetes can be contolled with diet and exercise without having to take any medications. If you are just diagnosed, you will probably be given meds but if you are diligent in keeping it at bay you can slowly wean yourself from the meds after you have a routine that works for you.
I cannot do it I am oral meds and insulin.

if you're a borderline type 2 diabetic, you might be able to go back to something like normal blood glucose control if you exercise and reduce the amount of fat in and around your abdominal organs, and keep your food intake reasonable But, the underlying condition remains. You may not be able to stay normal no matter what you do, and if you gain weight or stop exercising or stop eating right, it is likely to come back.
