Hi
Here is my story.
I was diagnosed three years ago with PCOS, something I had never heard of and not many people in South Africa had either.
I ordered a book from the States and started to change my diet and lifestyle and I fell pregnant and now have a beautiful 14 month old boy. I was told I was 80% infertile and would need to go on fertitlity treatment to solve the problem.
I have had acne since I was an early teenager and nothing i ever tried sorted it out. I went from one antibiotic to another and eventually this year settled on having a six month treatment of roaccutane. My skin has never looked this good, and yes I still have some breakouts, but they heal quickly.
What Roaccutane does is shrink the sebum glands so that it stops producing so much oil. Yes the side effects are really crap, but hey you have clear skin!!!!!
If my acne keeps coming back, my dermatologist will put me on a low dose for life, and that means clear skin!!!!!
She has recommended I use a special cleanser and moisturiser (no toner necessary - just splash cold water on your face after you have washed to close the pores) and they are really not expensive. I will bring the names with me tomorrow and post them. She doesnt believe in all these expensive products.
You dont need to spend a fortune to have great looking skin.
Firstly chuck all the old makeup....this doesnt help. Buy a oil free foundation (we use Revlon here) and apply it using clean fingers, and by doing this eliminating bacteria in sponges, etc.
Clean your other brushes with dettol or antispetic regularly.
Don't over wash your face (this makes it worse), only wash once a day (ie in the morning with water) and cleanse at night with a cleanser to remove pollution and makeup. Dont pick and squeeze you only make the problem worse and cause scarring. And yes, the red ugly marks will evenutally fade!
I would like to hear more of you stories!
Best regards
Anita
