Default Rogaine

Has anyone had success with Rogaine for hair loss? I am going to start using it soon. How long did it take to see results, if any? Thanks for your replies.

I have been using Rogaine for about four months now. I am on my fourth bottle and to be honest I really cannot tell the difference. I am still loosing a lot of hair and I really have not seen any new growth but it really would be hard to tell because my hair loss is diffused. Meaning I am loosing hair all over and not just the typical female pattern baldness that you experience with PCOS. I am going to continue to use it for 8 more months. That will give me a year. If I still do not see results then I will quit. (Oh also I have only been using it once a day because I wanted to ease into it because some peopel experience rapid heartbeat so that may have something to do with it but I am up to two times a day now on my fourth bottle. I have heard lots of success stories with Rogaine from other people though.

I have a lot of thinning at the front of my hair. I tried Rogaine for about 4 months, and then got pregnant so I had to quit. It's hard to say if there was any difference-- definitely no regrowth, but I think MAYBE the shedding slowed down some. Anyway, I guess you can't really tell in just 4 months! I'm thinking of starting it again now that I am finished breastfeeding. I'm interested too if anyone is having good luck with Rogaine.
Thanks!

I have been using 5% minoxidil twice a day since June, 2004. I am also taking 1,500 mg Met and 100 mg Spiro daily.

I have definitely noticed a difference since using Rogaine in the amount my hair sheds. My main problem is male pattern baldness but my hair has thinned quite a bit throughout. I have been using the Rogaine on the receding parts and in the middle part of the front and have regrowth on the receding sides. It hasn't filled in fully (yet?) but there is hair where there definitely wasn't any before. I am still not satisfied with the amount of regrowth in the middle but I am definitely not as worried about as I used to be. I am keeping my fingers crossed that over the next 4 to 6 months I will continue to see more regrowth but it is definitely better than it was. Not great but better.

I am kind of surprised because my dermatologist didn't think I would get any regrowth at all. She just thought it would stop (slow down) the shedding.

I have another appointment in March and will keep you ladies posted. At this point I am being cautiously optimistic!

I hope this helps.

I know quite a few people who have continued the use of Rogaine through out their pregnancy. Did you stop on your own or was it your doctor?

I quit the Rogaine on my own during pregnancy (I guess I just get nervous taking any med I don't HAVE to take while I'm pregnant). After I gave birth, I asked my doctor if I could take the Rogaine while nursing. He said no, then even looked it up in his reference books, they also said no. But now that I'm done nursing, I think I'm ready to start again!
