Default Rogaine Users!

Hi everyone,

My doctor recently prescribed the 5% Minoxidil for men. I have a few questions for those of you who use Rogaine.

Did you doctor prescribe the 5%? It makes me nervous to use it since the package and directions say "not for use by women" all over it.

Do you use the foam or the liquid? I used the foam last month, but am trying the liquid this month. I found the foam left my hair crunchy and was difficult to apply in the amount suggested. I had to use a little more to cover all my problem areas. I think it lasted me three weeks instead of the four stated on the package.

How long before you noticed results? I have only used it for a month and, therefore, have not seen any results. The package says two-four months.

Thanks!

I have used Rogaine for years now. At one time I tried the 5% and it had a negative side effect for me as it does many women. I grew more (as if what I had wasn't enough) facial hair. It was blond but it was thick and hard! l was sportin a lovely blonde mustache that would rival Tom Selleck's, ok that is a stretch, but you get my point.
Hope you have had better results! Hopefully by now you should know if it is working for you.

When did you start noticing the facial hair growth was worse? I don't think I've had that problem. I have very fine white hairs on my chin, but I've always had them. Somedays I look in the mirror and think they might be worse, but other days I don't notice them at all, so it's hard for me to say if it's worse, or just my paranoia.

I'm about to the end of my second month. I don't think I've noticed any new growth yet. It seems like my hair might be a little thicker at the roots, but I can't be sure. That could just be wishful thinking on my part.

I have found that I like the liquid much better than the foam, though. I can actually get the liquid down to my scalp and apply it more evenly than the foam, so if anyone is interested in trying Rogaine, I would go with the liquid.

It was years ago when I used the 5% but it was between 2 and 3 months of use that I noticed the heavy growth. Let me add that I have high testosterone levels, so that most likely had a role in reaction of extra course hair.
