Default Royal Jelly, DHEA and Hirsutism

Hey everyone! I'm trying out some natural supplements. Today I bought some high quality Royal Jelly because although I have PCOS I think I have low estrogen. When I am not on the Pill I get night sweats and heart palpitations like my estrogen declining menopausal mother. My PCOS symptoms are always worse when I am taking High Progestin-Low estrogen pills or the week before my period when progesterone is high and estrogen is low.

I read that Royal Jelly increases estrogen... So I bought it and took it today. THen I did some more research and found on one website that Royal Jelly is supposed to increase estrogen, progesterone AND DHEA.

This scares me... I associate DHEA with more unwanted hair growth... Does anyone know if this is an accurate assuption? Does DHEA = hirsutism? If so then this supplement - however good for immunity would not be good for me.

Yet I've heard of other SoulCysters taking Royal Jelly. Have some had good results?

P.S. I am not allergic to bees.

I have no information about Royal Jelly, however I wanted to comment that hot flashes and heart palpitations are symptoms that are associated with insulin resistance. Before I learned that I had PCOS, I ate a high-carb diet that fueled my PCOS/insulin resistance and I had hot flashes and night sweats with a racing heart nearly every night. I thought I was pre-menopausal even though I'm 32. Since I've started a serious low-carb diet and exercise program, I no longer get these.

Just something to consider. ;-)

Hey I appreciate your comment. Thanks for the advice. I was taking this PGX fiber supplement which is supposed to cure all types of blood sugar instability when taken with food. I thought it would be a cure all for my insulin resistance. There's lots of positive info on it. (I can't take Metformin since I am allergic to it.)

So I thought I would try the PGX to regulate blood sugar and insulin spikes. Anyway I was on it for over a month and it made me GAIN weight. Which it is NOT supposed to do. It is marketed as a weight loss supplement first and as a blood sugar regulator second. I'm not sure why I gained so much weight on it. Maybe cause about 3 months ago I started a new BCP and it's just last month that it started causing me to gain weight? or maybe it was the PGX alone.

I gained a little under 10lbs in a month and it just so happened to be the month I started taking PGX. SOoo not impressed. Drank massive amounts of water and still was consitpated on it. "bloating and digestive upset" is supposed to regulate itself in a week or so. I was not able to up my dose of PGX for the whole 5-6 weeks I was on it. I stayed on 2 capsules with 2-3 meals a day that whole time.

I will look into the natural method of lowing my glycemic index with diet. Although at first I thought that just eating slightly different (since I don't consider my diet that bad in the first place - although I know it's not perfect) would not be strong enough for my issues. But it is sure nice to have to hope that plain old eating smarter has helped a fellow PCOSer out so dramatically. There's hope at least.

Thanks
