Question Rubbing hair to make it go away????

Hello all. I hope everyone is having a great day! Here is my question: Since the hair on the top of my top lip is coarser and darker than the rest, will consistant rubbing/abrasion get rid of it? I don't want to bleach it because I think that would be really noticable, I don't want to pluck it so a lot more grows back, I surely don't want to shave it...stubble and such reasons. I just want it gone. I will admit it isn't really that dark and I only notice it every once in a while. I guess I could explain my theory better like this: you know how when your thighs rub together...no hair really grows there? And, on my dh, where is jeans usually rub his legs, there isn't any hair there...so, if I rub my upper lip a lot wouldn't this make the hair there go away? Just a question for everyone to ponder and shoot down..lol.

Thanks in advance for any responses!
Theresa

you can actually get these pads - they're like an extremely fine sandpaper, to 'buff' off hair.

look in the hair removal section of your pharmacy, i think they're made by Depy?

I have sensitive skin and i find they can really irritate the skin, though - but it's worth a shot.

Thank you so much for the reply. I had totally forgotten about those little pads. Do you know if they work? Does anyone know? Thanks for jogging my memory! Have a great day!!

Yeah they work, but i always have problems using them on my super-sensitive skin. I get these big red patches, that sometimes scab... needless to say i don't use them anymore, but the bigger 'glove' ones are great for legs.

Hello

I've used those little sand paper pad things (called Silkimitt in uk), and they make my skin bright red and broken if I'm not careful. So, I don't use them any more.

HOpe this helps

I have found waxing my moustache to be best... you have to use the real wax stuff, not the sugar stuff, it doesn't hold well enough. I do this every few months and it never comes back worse than before - a fear I had the first time I did it :-)

I have used those pads on my legs... it took a lot of buffing to get the hair off, not sure I'd want to use them on my upper lip...

I tried the buffer things for my upper lip and chin. I have fairly coarse black hairs and in order to get it all off, I had to rub too much. I ended up not getting all of it and getting little scabs on my upper lip which were more noticable than the hair had been! I usually use a cream dipilatory but once is not usually enough. I have to use it once and wait about an hour and use it again. And even then, it starts growing back within a day or two for me, not a week or two like it says. Very frustrating.

The whole facial hair thing has been a real self-esteem issue with me. When I got married and my dad put my veil down and I was waiting to walk down the aisle, I almost burst into tears because the veil kept getting stuck on the stubble on my chin even though I had tried to do something about it that morning. I have found that it is actually a relief finding out that my hair issues and other problems (acne, weight gain) are connected to PCOS. Now I know that it's because of something very specific and, from what I've been reading, treatable! My dh and I talked about it (after I stopped hiding my hair removal attempts from him!) and we have decided that we are going to wait until everything gets back into balance before doing something more permanent like laser or electrolysis, but that we (together!) are going to save up for it. Yay!

I wish everyone the best of luck with dealing with this because I know that for me it has been tough to deal with.
